Pre-eclampsia
Pre-eclampsia is a complex and unpredictable disorder which could occur during pregnancy. Most Pre-eclampsia women will deliver healthy babies but some may experience complications which could be life-threatening. Major fluid shifts occur during pregnancy, these changes are different between uncomplicated and Pre-eclamptic gestations. Cerebrovascular haemorrhage and Pulmonary oedema are high in Pre-eclampsia patients.

Early Assessment & Management of Pre-eclampsia for A Better Outcome
Hypertension complications can lead to Pulmonary oedema, one of the causes of death in Pre-eclamptic patients. In severely Pre-eclamptic patient Intravenous fluid may be necessary although it could increase the risk of developing pulmonary oedema, it is therefore vital regular monitoring is undertaken with BioScan
In severe hypertension, eclampsia, Imminent eclampsia and HELLP syndrome, it is essential fluid balance is carefully monitored before and after delivery. Early diagnosis through simple screening assessment and with good prenatal care can predict or may delay adverse outcomes of pre-eclampsia.
