Early Identification for Treating Lymphoedema is Essential
Identifying and treating Lymphoedema as soon as possible is important. If left untreated, the condition can worsen which will not be reversible. It develops when the lymphatic system doesn’t work properly. The lymphatic system is a network of channels and glands throughout the body that helps fight infection and remove excess fluid.
Water retention is a condition in which swelling is caused by the accumulation of excess fluid in body tissues. Water retention includes swelling of body parts such as ankles, feet and hands, weight fluctuations and a feeling of aching or stiffness.
Normally, fluid in the body is drained out through the lymphatic system and waste products are removed from the body tissues. When the body tissues aren’t able to get rid of the excess fluid in the body, water retention occurs.
